Overview
The Office of the District Programme Officer, Integrated Child Development Services, Ayodhya, has invited online applications for 220 Anganwadi Karyakatri, or Anganwadi Worker, posts on an honorarium basis across urban and rural areas of Ayodhya district. The notification, numbered C-1088/District Magistrate/B.Sc./Notification/2026-27, is dated 21 July 2026. Applications run from 22 July to 11 August 2026 until midnight, online only through upanganwadibharti.in. The 220 posts are spread across 12 Child Development Project offices. Ayodhya Shahar carries by far the largest share with 72, followed by Sohawal 22, and Maya Bazar and Pura Bazar with 20 each. Amaniganj has 15, Milkipur 13, Bikapur 12, Haringtonganj 11, and Mawai, Rudauli and Tarun 9 each, with Masaudha at 8. Category-wise the split across all projects is 129 Unreserved, 54 OBC and 37 SC. A detailed annexure lists the Gram Panchayat or ward name, the 11-digit Anganwadi centre code, centre name and reservation category for every one of the 220 centres. Two features of this Uttar Pradesh sarkari naukri process decide most outcomes. First, only half these posts reach open applicants: under the Government Order of 17 September 2025, 50 per cent of vacant Karyakatri posts are filled first from serving Anganwadi Sahayikas of the same gram sabha or ward who have five years of regular service, are under 50, and hold at least Intermediate. Direct recruitment covers the remaining 50 per cent. Second, within direct recruitment a strict priority order applies inside each gram sabha or ward: widows from BPL families, then legally divorced or deserted women from BPL families, then other BPL women, and only then the same sequence among women above the poverty line. If no candidate is found in a gram sabha, selection extends category-wise to the Nyaya Panchayat area. Selection is merit-only with no written examination, ties broken first by age and then by higher qualification, and the list is approved by the District Magistrate with appointment letters issued within 15 working days.
Qualification
- Minimum Intermediate, Class 12, or equivalent
- Merit is computed up to Post-Graduate level where the candidate holds higher degrees
- Intermediate marks are divided by 10 to produce the merit score, so 45 per cent gives 4.5 points and 59 per cent gives 5.9 points
- The same conversion applies to grading and CGPA-based results
- Percentage scores from qualifications above Intermediate are added to the Intermediate score for the final merit
Age Limit
- 18 to 35 years as on the cut-off date of 01 July 2026
- Date of birth in the High School marksheet and certificate is treated as valid
- No age relaxation for reserved categories is mentioned for this recruitment cycle
