BTSC Bihar Technician & Asst Bacteriologist 2026 — 14 Posts, 23 Aug

Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) issued two notifications on 22 July 2026 for the Bihar Drug Control Laboratory under the Health Department, Government of Bihar. Advertisement No. 26/2026 covers 11 Technician (Bench Chemist) posts and Advertisement No. 25/2026 covers 3 Assistant Bacteriologist posts, a combined 14 vacancies. Both sit within the technical cadre of the Drug Control Laboratory, the Technician post under the Technician sub-cadre and the Assistant Bacteriologist post under the Bacteriologist sub-cadre. The two roles target quite different candidates. Technician (Bench Chemist) is open to D.Pharma or B.Pharma holders but carries a mandatory six-month work experience requirement in drug testing and analysis, which is not waived for B.Pharma holders. Assistant Bacteriologist requires a postgraduate qualification, either M.D. Microbiology, M.Sc. Microbiology or M.Pharma. Selection runs on a 100-mark scale: a Computer Based Test worth 75 marks plus work experience worth up to 25 marks at 5 marks per year. The written paper carries 100 objective questions for 400 marks over two hours in Hindi and English, with 4 marks per correct answer and 1 mark deducted per wrong answer, and results normalised across shifts. Qualifying thresholds are 40 per cent General, 36.5 per cent BC, 34 per cent EBC and 32 per cent SC, ST, women and PwD, though candidates from outside Bihar must reach the 40 per cent General mark regardless of category. • Government servants with three years of continuous regular service receive 5 years relaxation
• Contractual staff in non-private laboratories in Bihar may claim relaxation equal to their engagement period, subject to the ceiling
• Only one type of age relaxation is admissible to any candidate

8. Review every entry before final submission, since corrections are not permitted afterwards
9. Download and save the confirmation page and the fee payment receipt
10. Submit before 23 August 2026, and keep at least five spare copies of the uploaded photograph for later stages
