Overview
Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata, an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has released CNCI Specialist and Scientist Recruitment 2026 under Advertisement No. R-001/2026 dated 01 August 2026 for 8 regular posts. This central government job vacancy 2026 covers 3 Specialist posts — Specialist Grade-I (Radiology), Specialist Grade-II (Radiology) and Specialist Grade-II (Preventive Oncology) — plus 5 Scientist-B posts, one each in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Structural Biology and Multiomics. CNCI is one of India's premier cancer treatment and research institutes, and this recruitment offers a rare direct-recruitment entry point into a Comprehensive Cancer Centre for both clinical specialists and research scientists. Selected Specialists will work in CNCI's Radiology and Preventive Oncology departments across its two Kolkata campuses, while Scientist-B appointees will pursue research in their respective discipline. The selection process for CNCI Specialist and Scientist 2026 consists of shortlisting of applications, a screening interview if the volume of applications is high, a final interview, and document verification. The salary for these posts follows the 7th Pay Commission — Level 13 plus Non-Practicing Allowance for Specialist Grade-I, Level 11 plus NPA for Specialist Grade-II, and Level 10 for Scientist-B, along with other applicable allowances. The CNCI Specialist and Scientist 2026 application is offline only — candidates must download the prescribed form from cnci.ac.in under the Career link. The last date to submit the completed application by post is 31 August 2026. Application fee is ₹1,000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates, while SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and women candidates are exempted. Candidates must read the complete official CNCI Specialist and Scientist 2026 notification PDF (Advt No. R-001/2026) before applying, since eligibility, experience requirements and desirable qualifications differ significantly by post.
