The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, has invited online applications for 51 contract posts under the Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project on River Ganga. This is one of the more scientifically demanding recruitment drives on the pollution-control side, requiring candidates to hold Master's degrees, GATE/NET-JRF qualifications, or published research work depending on the post, alongside relevant practical experience in prevention, control and abatement of river and industrial pollution. Selected candidates will draw consolidated monthly emoluments ranging from Rs. 38,741 for Field Assistant up to Rs. 1,71,597 for Scientist-D, and may be posted at CPCB's Regional Directorate in Lucknow, Kolkata, Chandigarh, or the Head Office in Delhi, at the Board's discretion. • Scientist-D: First class Master's in Environmental/Natural Science OR First Class B.E./B.Tech (Environmental/Chemical/Civil/Energy & Environment/Biotechnology), plus research impact factor 10+ or 5+ books/technical reports; 7 years' experience
• Scientist-C: Same academic qualification, impact factor 7+ or 3+ books/reports; 5 years' experience
• Scientist-B: Same academic qualification, valid GATE (90th percentile+) or NET-JRF; 3 years' experience
• Assistant Manager (Finance): First class Master's in Commerce/CA/MBA (Finance); 8 years' experience including Tally, GST/TDS filing, payroll
• Administrative Assistant: First Class Bachelor's with computer knowledge; 5 years' admin experience
• Scientific Assistant: Same academic qualification as Scientist-B, GATE/NET-JRF
• Taxonomist: First Class M.Sc. (Botany/Zoology preferred), GATE/NET-JRF, research publications
• Data Entry Operator: First class Bachelor's in Science/BCA; MS Office skill test, 45 wpm English/35 wpm Hindi typing
• Field Assistant: 10+2 Science, min. 55% marks; water/wastewater sampling knowledge

• Assistant Manager (Finance)/Administrative Assistant/Scientific Assistant/Taxonomist: 35 years
• Data Entry Operator: 32 years; Field Assistant: 27 years
• No age relaxation for in-service candidates, Ex-Servicemen, or reserved categories

Candidates must have passed the qualifying degree examination through a full-time regular course from a recognised Indian University or Institute; part-time or distance-mode degrees are not considered. Qualification, experience and age will be reckoned strictly as on the closing date of 7 September 2026, and no subsequent updating of qualification or experience is permitted. Candidates awaiting final semester results, or currently appearing in their final year, are not eligible to apply. Time spent pursuing a Ph.D. degree is not counted as work experience for any post. Only candidates of Indian Nationality may apply, and candidates holding degrees from institutions declared fake or de-recognised by UGC/AICTE/PCI are ineligible. Applicants currently in Government, Semi-Government, PSU or Autonomous Organisation service must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification.

2. Register with a valid, active email ID and mobile number, both of which must remain accessible throughout the recruitment process.
3. Enter your name exactly as it appears on your degree certificate, since this field cannot be edited after registration.
4. Select the Post and Essential Qualification from the dropdown menu, and enter your Date of Birth.
5. Note down the system-generated Registration Number displayed on screen.
6. Log in again using the Registration Number and Date of Birth (which also serves as password).
7. Fill in post selection, qualification and experience details as per the advertisement.
8. Upload JPEG images of your photograph, signature, and Experience Certificate.
