Overview
The High Court of Himachal Pradesh (HP High Court) has invited Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) for 388 posts on the Establishment of District Judiciary in Himachal Pradesh, under Advertisement No. DJ-ADVT./2026(1), dated 5 August 2026, framed under the Himachal Pradesh District Judiciary Staff (Recruitment, Promotion, Control, Conduct, Discipline and Other Conditions of Service) Rules, 2022. HP High Court Recruitment 2026 spans six post categories — Court Manager, Clerk, Stenographer Grade-III, Driver, Process Server, and Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari/Chowkidar-cum-Safai Karamchari — filled across regular, contractual, and daily wages appointment modes. Clerk carries the single largest share at 141 posts (84 regular, 57 contract), followed by Peon-category roles at 89 posts and Process Server at 65, making this one of the biggest Himachal Pradesh govt jobs 2026 drives in the district judiciary space so far this year. Selected candidates will be posted across district judiciary establishments throughout Himachal Pradesh, and the selection process is tailored to each post. Clerk candidates go through a Screening Test, Written Test, a Typing Test requiring 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi (Kruti Dev-10 font), and Document Verification. Stenographer Grade-III candidates clear a Screening Test followed by a Stenography Test at 80 WPM in English with accurate transcription within five times the dictation time, plus a Typing Test at 40 WPM English and 30 WPM Hindi — more than 10% transcription or typing errors disqualifies a candidate. Court Manager selection runs through a Written Test and Viva-voce as per Schedule-III of the R&P Rules, 2022, while Driver candidates face a Screening Test and a driving Proficiency Test. Peon-category and Process Server posts are evaluated substantially on 10+2 marks combined with document evaluation. Pay for regular appointments ranges from Rs. 18,000–56,900 per month at Pay Level-1 for Process Server and Peon-category posts up to Rs. 48,700–1,54,300 per month at Pay Level-16 for Court Manager, while contractual and daily wages appointees are paid at rates fixed separately by the Himachal Pradesh Government. Online applications for HP High Court Recruitment 2026 opened on 10 August 2026 through the dedicated portal hphcrecruitment.in, and the last date to apply online is 10 September 2026 at 11:59 PM — the same deadline applies to fee payment. Candidates should read the complete official HP High Court District Judiciary 2026 notification PDF carefully before applying, since eligibility, domicile, and language requirements differ meaningfully from post to post, and vacancy numbers in a particular division or district may vary due to administrative reasons.
