Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), India's largest commercial oil company (Maharatna PSU), has released the notification for 1,524 Trade Apprentice and Technician Apprentice positions across 4 refineries — Barauni Refinery (Bihar), Gujarat Refinery (Vadodara), Haldia Refinery (West Bengal), and Panipat Refinery (Haryana). This is one of the largest PSU apprenticeship drives in 2026. Apprentices will receive hands-on industrial training for 12 months in refinery operations, maintenance, instrumentation, and process engineering. Candidates must register on the NAPS (naps.gov.in) or NATS (nats.education.gov.in) portal before applying. No application fee. Selection based on merit in qualifying exam, followed by document verification and medical examination. Posting at the respective refinery location.

Trade Apprentice: Matriculation (10th) + ITI/NTC/NAC in relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Boiler Attendant, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, etc.). Technician Apprentice: Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Civil Engineering from recognized polytechnic.

18–24 years; relaxation OBC +3, SC/ST +5, PwBD +10

• Trade Apprentice: 10th pass (Matriculation) + ITI/NTC/NAC in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized institution.
• Technician Apprentice: 3-year Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Civil Engineering from recognized polytechnic.
• Must not have undergone or currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act with any organization.
• Age 18–24 years (relaxation per rules).
• Must register on NAPS/NATS portal before applying.

Stipend as per Apprentices Act 1961 / NAPS guidelines (typically ₹7,000–₹12,300/month depending on qualification). 12-month training at IOCL refineries.
