The Karnataka State Excise Department has received government approval for direct recruitment of 1,207 posts — 942 Excise Constables and 265 Excise Sub Inspectors for the years 2024-25 and 2025-26 combined. The Excise Department enforces liquor laws, narcotics control, and prohibition across Karnataka. Excise Constables patrol and enforce at retail outlets, bars, and manufacturing units. Excise Sub Inspectors lead enforcement teams, conduct raids, and manage excise administration at taluk/district levels. Excise Constable: ₹21,400 – ₹42,000/month + DA + HRA + uniform allowance. Excise Sub Inspector: ₹30,350 – ₹58,250/month + DA + HRA + uniform + investigation allowance.
