Overview
Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has published the provisional answer key for the written examination held for the post of Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) in the Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers. The examination was conducted on 22 July 2026 under question paper code 68-2026 against category codes 541/2025 and 697/2025. The paper was set in English and contained 100 questions, with the answer key published separately for all four question booklet alpha codes A, B, C and D. Because this examination used four alpha codes, the answer sequence differs between booklets. Candidates must locate the alpha code printed on their own question booklet and read only the matching column of the answer key. Comparing against the wrong column is the single most common mistake candidates make with Kerala PSC multi-code papers and produces a score that bears no relation to the real one. The key was released within a day of the examination, which is unusually fast, so candidates should download and save it while access remains open. This is a provisional answer key and is subject to revision. Kerala PSC accepts objections from candidates who believe an answer is incorrect, reviews each one, and then publishes a final answer key that supersedes this version. The result and rank list are prepared against the final key rather than this one. Objections must be submitted through the Kerala PSC portal within the timeline notified by the Commission, with supporting evidence attached. To download, visit keralapsc.gov.in, open the Provisional Answer Key section under the Examination tab, and locate the entry for question paper code 68-2026 covering Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), Inspector of Factories and Boilers.
