Karnataka Forest Department Forest Observer 2026 — KFD, 13 Forest Circles (750 Posts)

The Karnataka Forest Department (KFD) has released the official notification for 750 Forest Observer (Aranya Paricharyaka) posts across all 13 Forest Circles in Karnataka — Chamarajanagar (169 posts, highest), Mysuru (120), Bengaluru (70), Ballari (62), Kenara/Karwar (60), Chikkaballapur (56), Mangalore (54), Belagavi (42), Shivamogga (38), Kodagu (32), Hassan (30), Dharwad (12), and Kalaburagi (4). This is one of the largest Karnataka state recruitments in 2026 and the biggest forest department recruitment in recent years. Forest Observers work in forest ranges and sections performing forest protection, wildlife monitoring, anti-poaching patrols, fire management, and plantation activities. Only 10th pass candidates eligible — no higher qualification needed. Selection through Physical Test (endurance test, running, walking) and Medical Test only — NO written examination. Applications open 01 August to 31 August 2026 through the KFD online portal at aranya.gov.in. No application fee for any category.

* 10th pass (SSLC) from any recognized board or equivalent. * Must have studied Kannada as first or second language up to SSLC level. * Must be physically fit — selection entirely based on physical endurance and medical fitness. * Must meet prescribed height (Male: 163cm General / 160cm SC-ST; Female: 150cm General / 148cm SC-ST) and chest (Male: 79cm + 5cm expansion) standards. * Age as per KFD norms with relaxation per Karnataka rules. * Indian citizen.
