KSP Armed Police Constable 2026 — CAR/DAR, Karnataka State Police (1,600 Posts)

Karnataka State Police (KSP) has released Notification No. 04/Recruitment-5(A)/2026-27 and 04/Recruitment-5(B)/2026-27 dated 19 June 2026 for 1,600 Armed Police Constable (CAR/DAR) posts — 1,421 under General Karnataka cadre and 179 under Kalyana Karnataka (Article 371-J) cadre. This is separate from the KSP Civil Police Constable (3,991 posts) recruitment. Together, Karnataka Police is recruiting 5,591 constables in 2026 — one of the largest police drives in the country. Only male candidates are eligible. Selection through Written Exam (OMR-based, scheduled 06 September 2026), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET — 1600m run, long jump, high jump, shot put), Medical Examination, and Final Merit. Negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer applies.

PUC (12th pass) or equivalent from a recognized board. Must have studied Kannada as first or second language up to SSLC level, or pass KEA Kannada language test.

18–33 years (General Male); 35 years (SC/ST/OBC reserved); 38 years (Forest tribal/Budakattu). 5-year one-time relaxation per GO No. 262/2025. Ex-Servicemen: additional 3 years + military service length.

• Male candidates only.
• Age 18–33 years for General Male; relaxation per Karnataka Govt rules.
• Must meet physical standards (height, chest as specified in notification).

3. Register and fill the online application form.
4. Upload photo, signature, and documents.
