Meghalaya Civil Secretariat Recruitment 2026 — 153 Posts (Peon/Chowkidar/Mali), Apply by 18 Sep

The Secretariat Administration Department (Nazarat), Government of Meghalaya, has released Grade IV Recruitment 2026 under Advt No. SAN.66/2019/89 for 153 posts — Peon, Cleaner, Sweeper, Chowkidar, and Mali — in the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat. The 153 vacancies combine unfilled posts carried forward from an earlier round with fresh vacancies now notified. Candidates who have passed Class VI and are Indian citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution are eligible to apply. Selected candidates will be placed at Level-1 of the pay matrix, plus usual allowances admissible under the Rules, at the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat. Selection is made by the Departmental Selection Committee through a written examination in General English and General Awareness (50 marks each), with no interview stage, in line with Office Memorandum No.PER(AR)58/2024/36. A number of posts are earmarked for Persons with Disabilities and Skilled Sportspersons across the UR, Khasi-Jaintia, Garo, and OSTs/SCs reservation categories. • Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 32 years, as on 1 January 2026
• Relaxation: 5 years for ST/SC candidates; separate relaxation for PWD candidates as per Office Memorandum No.PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18.01.2023

• Class VI Passed, for all five Grade IV posts (Peon, Cleaner, Sweeper, Chowkidar, Mali)
• Age between 18 and 32 years as on 1 January 2026, with 5 years' relaxation for ST/SC candidates
• Date of birth accepted only via Municipal Board/Department of Health & Family Welfare certificate, School Certificate, or H.S.L.C. Admit Card — no other proof accepted
• Reservation posts earmarked for PWD (Partially Deaf, Locomotor) and Skilled Sportspersons within UR, KJ, Garo, and OSTs/SCs categories
• Must be an Indian citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution

• General Category: ₹100 per post
• ST/SC: ₹50 per post
