Overview
Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has issued a corrigendum adding 1,539 Talathi (Gram Mahsul Adhikari) posts in the Revenue and Forest Department to the Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026. This is an important point candidates often miss: Talathi is not a separate recruitment with its own form. It has been folded into the existing Group-C combined examination, which was originally advertised for 26,199 posts and has now grown by 3,088 additional posts through this and related corrigenda. Because Talathi sits inside the combined examination, candidates who have already submitted an application for the Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 do not need to apply again. Talathi recruitment has moved from the earlier TCS-administered model used in 2023 to the formal MPSC Group-C framework, which means a two-tier structure of a joint preliminary examination followed by an objective mains. The Combined Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 25 October 2026 in offline OMR mode. Selected Talathi officers serve as village-level revenue officers handling land records, revenue collection and local administration. The MPSC Talathi 2026 online application is available at mpsconline.gov.in and the last date to apply has been extended to 31 July 2026. Application fee is Rs 1,000 for open category candidates and Rs 900 for reserved category candidates. Age is reckoned as on 05 August 2026. Candidates must read the complete official corrigendum and the parent Group-C Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 notification on the MPSC website before applying.
