Overview
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), through the Ekatmik Arogya Kutumb Kalyan Society, has notified 56 Medical Officer (MBBS) posts under the National Urban Health Mission at Urban Health Centres funded by the 15th Finance Commission. Selection is by direct walk-in interview on 5 August 2026 at the Aarogya Vibhag, third floor, NMMC Head Office, Plot No. 1, Sector-15A, near Killa Gaothan, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai 400614. Registration runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with document scrutiny and the interview held the same day. The category breakdown is Open 15, OBC 11, SEBC 6, EWS 6, SC 7, ST 4, VJ-A 2, NT-B 1, NT-C 2, NT-D 1 and SBC 1. The honorarium is a fixed ₹60,000 per month and the engagement runs for six months. Working hours at the 15th Finance Commission Urban Health Centres are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Merit lists are prepared according to the priority order in which the health centres become operational, so candidates are called for document verification in that sequence rather than as a single combined list. Two conditions catch applicants out on Maharashtra municipal health postings. First, the small family norm applies from 23 July 2020, so candidates with more than two children born on or after that date are not eligible. Second, OBC, VJ, NT, SBC and SEBC candidates must produce a valid non-creamy layer certificate, and applications without one are rejected outright. Candidates must also submit an affidavit declaring no criminal case is registered against them. These are purely contractual posts carrying no claim to regularisation or absorption into regular Maharashtra Government service, and appointees must join the assigned Urban Health Centre within seven days of the appointment order.
