Overview
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), through its Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) under the Health Department (Arogya Vibhag) and Communicable Disease Control Department (Sathrog Niyantran Vibhag), has released PMC Recruitment 2026 for 8 government job vacancies across 7 post categories — Senior Public Health Specialist, Microbiologist, Veterinary Officer, Technical Assistant, Entomologist, Technical Officer (IT), and Data Analyst. This is a significant public health surveillance drive for Pune, offering medical, veterinary, and technical professionals a contractual opportunity to strengthen the city's communicable disease response infrastructure. Selected candidates will support disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and public health data functions under PMC's Metropolitan Surveillance Unit, with each role focused on a specific technical domain — from senior epidemiological leadership to microbiology lab work, veterinary public health, entomological zoonotic disease investigation, IT systems, and data analysis. The selection process for PMC Recruitment 2026 involves scrutiny of applications by the Health Department, a merit list prepared according to qualification and experience, with preference to candidates holding more experience and higher qualification. Monthly remuneration ranges from ₹30,000 for the Technical Assistant post up to ₹1,75,000 for the Senior Public Health Specialist post (for MBBS with MD/DNB candidates), with all 8 posts engaged on a contract basis for 11 months and 29 days, renewable based on performance and project continuation. The PMC Recruitment 2026 application process is offline, with candidates required to download the prescribed application form from pmc.gov.in and submit it along with self-attested documents in person at the Health Department office, 3rd Floor, Main Building, Shivaji Nagar, Pune Mahanagarpalika. The last date for submission of the application form and documents is 15 September 2026. Candidates must read the complete official PMC notification carefully before applying, since eligibility, experience requirements, and salary vary significantly across the 7 post categories, and contractual employees have no claim to permanency regardless of years served.
