TNPSC CTSE 2026 — Combined Technical Services Exam, Diploma/ITI Level, Tamil Nadu (839 Posts)

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released Notification No. 06/2026 (Advt. No. 737) dated 07 July 2026 for 839 vacancies under the Combined Technical Services Examination (CTSE) at Diploma/ITI Level across 56 different technical posts in Tamil Nadu Government departments, boards, and public sector organizations. Posts include Assistant Agricultural Officer, Road Inspector, Junior Draughting Officer, Junior Training Officer (117 trades — Electrician, Fitter, Wireman, Welder, Machinist, Drone Pilot, etc.), Motor Vehicle Inspector Grade-II, Mines Foreman, Assistant Horticultural Officer, and many more. Selection through a single-stage Written Examination (Paper-I: Tamil + General Studies + Aptitude, 150 marks; Paper-II: Technical Subject, 200 marks) followed by Certificate Verification and Counselling. Tamil language proficiency is MANDATORY — candidates must score minimum 40% (60/150 marks) in Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test) to qualify. Correction window: 19-21 August 2026. This is one of Tamil Nadu's largest technical recruitments in 2026.

Post-wise Diploma/ITI (NCVT/NTC) or Degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Automobile) from recognized institute. Knowledge of Tamil language mandatory.

18 years (21 years for Motor Vehicle Inspector Grade-II and Junior Training Officer posts) as on 01 July 2026; maximum age varies by post; relaxation per Tamil Nadu Govt rules

• Diploma or ITI (NCVT/NTC) or Degree in relevant Engineering/Technical discipline as per post code.
• Tamil language knowledge (reading, writing, speaking) MANDATORY.
• Age 18-34/50 years depending on post as on 01 July 2026 (Motor Vehicle Inspector Grade-II: 21-34 years; JTO: 21+ years).

₹150 One-Time Registration Fee (if not already registered) + exam fee per notification. Free for SC/ST/PwBD.

Pay Level 8 to Level 15 — depending on post (Assistant Agricultural Officer, Road Inspector, JTO, MVI Grade-II, Mines Foreman, Junior Draughting Officer, etc.) — up to ₹84,180/month

1. Visit tnpscexams.in and click "One-Time Registration (OTR)" if not registered.
2. Complete Aadhaar e-KYC, upload photo, signature.
3. Pay ₹150 OTR fee to get unique registration number.
4. Login and select "Combined Technical Services Examination 2026."
5. Fill educational and technical qualification details.
6. Choose post codes (multiple allowed if eligible).
7. Upload documents and pay exam fee.
8. Submit before 15 August 2026 (11:59 PM).
