Overview
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) 2026 on its official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates who applied for the 1,358 Medical Officer vacancies can now download their e-admit card using their Registration ID (RID) or Roll Number along with their Date of Birth and the captcha. The admit card was released on 24 July 2026. The UPSC CMS 2026 written examination is a computer-based test held on 2 August 2026, consisting of Paper I (General Medicine & Paediatrics) and Paper II (Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine), each carrying 250 marks over two hours, with a one-third negative marking penalty. Candidates who qualify the written stage are called for a Personality Test of 100 marks. The admit card carries the candidate's name, photograph, roll number, exam centre, reporting time, gate closing time and exam-day instructions. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the UPSC CMS Admit Card 2026 along with one original valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport, PAN or Driving Licence) to the exam centre. No physical or postal admit card is issued — only the downloaded e-admit card is valid. Report well before the reporting time, as gate closing is strictly enforced. Preserve the admit card until the result is declared, as no duplicate is issued later.
