IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) recruitment fills specialist positions in public sector banks for candidates with professional qualifications in IT, Law, Agriculture, HR, Marketing, and Rajbhasha (Hindi). Unlike IBPS PO/Clerk which are generalist posts, SO positions require domain-specific degrees and experience.

Specialist Officer Posts & Eligibility
Scale-II Posts (Officer Grade)
IT Officer: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT/Electronics OR MCA OR equivalent. GATE score may be considered for some banks.
Agriculture Field Officer: 4-year degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Pisciculture/Agri Marketing from a recognized university.
Law Officer: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) + enrolled as Advocate with Bar Council. Minimum 2 years' experience in legal practice.
HR/Personnel Officer: Graduate + PG Diploma/MBA in HR/Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/Labour Welfare. Minimum 1 year experience.
Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing OR equivalent from a recognized institution.
Rajbhasha Adhikari: Post-Graduate degree in Hindi with English as a subject at degree level OR Post-Graduate in Sanskrit with Hindi and English at degree level.
Scale-III Posts (Senior Officer)
Same specializations as Scale-II but require minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field. Higher pay scale and responsibility.
Age Limit: Scale-II: 20-30 years. Scale-III: 20-35 years (with standard relaxations).

SO posts offer higher starting salary than PO because they require specialized qualifications.
