Overview
BMC Shikshan Sevak Recruitment 2026 is out — the Education Department of Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC/MCGM) has released Notification No. EOR/OD/113 announcing 935 government job vacancies for Shikshan Sevak (Teaching Fellow) across four streams: Marathi medium, English medium, Art (Chitrakala) Special Teacher, and Music (Sangeet) Special Teacher. Candidates holding HSC/Degree with D.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed for teaching posts, or a recognised degree/diploma with relevant teaching experience for the special-subject posts, are eligible to apply for BMC Shikshan Sevak Recruitment 2026 across BMC schools in Mumbai. Selected candidates will teach at BMC schools across Mumbai, with Marathi medium carrying the largest allocation at 525 posts, followed by English medium at 352 posts, Music Special Teacher at 48 posts, and Art Special Teacher at 10 posts. The selection process for BMC Shikshan Sevak 2026 is based entirely on candidates' scores in the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) 2025, conducted between 27 May and 05 June 2025, followed by preparation of a category-wise merit list, document verification, police character verification, and a medical examination. The honorarium is ₹16,000 per month — an accessible entry point into Mumbai's civic education system for B.Ed/D.Ed-qualified candidates who have already appeared for TAIT 2025. The BMC Shikshan Sevak 2026 online application is available through the Maharashtra Government's Pavitra Portal, linked from BMC's website. The last date to apply is 11 August 2026. Application fee details are not specified and will be indicated on the Pavitra Portal. Candidates must read the complete official notification PDF before applying, and note that this recruitment is open only to candidates who have already appeared for TAIT 2025, since selection is based entirely on that exam's scores.
