• Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject; 3 years as Associate Professor in that subject at a recognised medical institution, with at least 2 research publications after becoming Associate Professor (among the first three authors); completed Basic Course in Biomedical Research; registered with Telangana State Medical Council. A Senior Consultant with 3 years as PG teacher of a broad/super specialty at an NBE-recognised government institute is also eligible.
• Associate Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB; 4 years as Assistant Professor in the subject (or 5 years if appointed directly as Assistant Professor in a government institution), with 2 research publications after becoming Assistant Professor. A non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with a PG medical degree and 10 years' experience in a 220+ bed government hospital is also eligible, subject to completing basic courses within two years.
• Assistant Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB; 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject at a recognised medical institution (Tutor/Demonstrator experience with relevant PG qualification may count as equivalent). Alternative routes include a non-teaching Consultant/Specialist/Medical Officer with 2 years' experience in a 220+ bed government hospital, diploma holders appointed as Senior Resident before 08-06-2017 with 4 years' total experience, or diploma holders with 6 years' cumulative experience as Specialist/Medical Officer in a government medical institution.
• Senior Resident: Undergoing residency after obtaining a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB), or a postgraduate MSc with PhD in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, or Microbiology.
• Non-medical Assistant Professor (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology): MSc in the relevant Medical subject with PhD in the same subject.
• Broad specialty qualifications required per department include MD/MS/DNB in the respective subject (e.g. General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesiology, Radio-Diagnosis, and others), or MSc with PhD for the basic science departments as noted above.
• All posts require MBBS and the additional qualification to be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council; applications without this registration will be rejected outright, and non-local candidates must complete registration within one week of selection.

• Senior Resident, broad specialties: upper age limit 45 years
