GSSSB Sanitary Inspector 2026 — 173 Posts, Apply by 26 Jul (Gujarat)

Gujarat Gauna Seva Pasandagi Mandal (GSSSB), Gandhinagar, has reopened applications for Municipal Sanitary Inspector and Sanitary Sub Inspector, Class-3 posts under Advertisement No. 349/202526. A corrigendum issued on 20 July 2026 raised the vacancy count from 75 to 173 and reopened the application window, which had closed after the original notification of 26 August 2025. The revised split is 145 Municipal Sanitary Inspector posts under the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department and 28 Sanitary Sub Inspector posts at Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. This is a Gujarat sarkari naukri opening aimed squarely at HSC-plus-diploma candidates rather than graduates. Eligibility requires a Higher Secondary pass together with either a one-year Sanitary Inspector's Diploma or a one-year Health Sanitary Inspector certificate from an ITI. Pay begins at a fixed ₹26,000 per month for five years, after which satisfactory service leads to the 7th Pay Commission Level-4 scale of ₹25,000 to ₹81,100, though regularisation remains subject to two pending Supreme Court special leave petitions. Candidates placed at Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation are not classified as Gujarat Government employees and reach Level-4 after three years instead of five. Selection is decided in a single stage. The CBRT or OMR examination carries 210 marks across 210 questions over three hours, with Part A covering reasoning, data interpretation and mathematics for 60 marks, and Part B covering the Indian Constitution, current affairs, Gujarati and English comprehension plus subject knowledge for 150 marks. Negative marking is one-quarter mark per wrong answer, and candidates must clear 40 per cent in both parts independently regardless of category. Widows and recognised sportspersons receive 5 per cent additional marks. Apply through OJAS at ojas.gujarat.gov.in by 26 July 2026 at 11:59 PM, with fee payable until 29 July 2026.

• Ex-servicemen: period of service plus 3 years

• Must be a citizen of India, or hold nationality under Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
• HSC pass plus a one-year Sanitary Inspector Diploma or ITI Health Sanitary Inspector certificate
• Age between 18 and 33 years as on 15 September 2025, with category relaxations applying
• Reserved category benefits apply only to original residents of Gujarat belonging to that category
• SEBC candidates must hold a Non-Creamy Layer certificate in Annexure-4 Gujarati format based on FY 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26 income, obtained on or before 26 July 2026
• EWS candidates must hold an Income and Asset certificate in Annexure-KH or Parishisht-C format obtained between 27 July 2023 and 26 July 2026; certificates issued for Gujarat state scheme benefits are not accepted
• Foreign university degree holders must submit UGC equivalence proof at certificate verification
• Only one application per candidate; if multiple are filed, the last confirmed application with fee paid is treated as valid

• Women of all categories, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and Ex-servicemen: ₹400
• Payable online only by debit card, internet banking, UPI or wallet, plus transaction charges
• Refunded to candidates who appear for the examination, not refunded to absentees

• Fixed pay of ₹26,000 per month for the first five years

• Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation appointees are not treated as Gujarat Government employees and become eligible for Level-4 after three years of satisfactory service

3. Click Apply Now, then Skip to open the application format, and complete all Personal Details marked with a red asterisk
4. Fill in your Educational Details exactly as they appear on your HSC and diploma or ITI certificates
5. Accept the declaration and click Save to generate your Application Number
6. Upload your photograph at 5 cm by 3.6 cm and signature at 2.5 cm by 7.5 cm, both in JPG format and each under 15 KB
7. Click Confirm Application, after which no edits are possible and the category field cannot be changed
8. Note the Confirmation Number generated, as it is required for every subsequent step
9. Download and print a copy of the submitted application for your records
