Income Tax Department Sports Quota 2026 — MTS, Stenographer & Tax Assistant, Delhi (12 Posts)

The Income Tax Department, CBDT, Ministry of Finance has released the notification for 12 Group B and Group C posts under Sports Quota — MTS, Stenographer Grade-II, and Tax Assistant. Only candidates with verifiable State/National/International level sports achievements in recognized disciplines can apply. This is a meritorious sportspersons quota recruitment — selection based on sports achievements + trial/practical + interview.

10th pass + State/National level sports achievement. Stenographer Grade-II: 12th pass + shorthand 80 WPM + typing 35 WPM + sports achievement. Tax Assistant: Graduate + typing 35 WPM (English) or 30 WPM (Hindi) + sports achievement.

MTS: 18-25 years; Stenographer: 18-27 years; Tax Assistant: 18-27 years. Relaxation per Central Govt rules. Age relaxation for sportspersons: +5 years.

• Required educational qualification per post (10th/12th/Graduate).
• Must have represented State/Country in National/International sports competitions OR won medals in National/State championships.
• Sports discipline must be recognized by Sports Authority of India (SAI).
• Age as per post with +5 years sports relaxation.

NIL (sports quota — no application fee)

Pay Level 1 (₹18,000 – ₹56,900). Stenographer: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100). Tax Assistant: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100). + DA + HRA + allowances.

3. Fill and attach sports certificates, educational certificates, identity proof.
4. Submit by post/in person to the designated Income Tax office before 31 July 2026.
