NFR Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 — 56 Sportsperson Posts (Assam)

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released Employment Notice No. 04/2026 inviting applications from eligible sportspersons for recruitment against the Sports Quota for 2026-27. A total of 56 posts are on offer — 21 posts in Level-3/2 of the Pay Matrix and 35 posts in Level-1 — both under the 7th Central Pay Commission. Applications are open to Indian citizens who meet the specified sports norms. Level-3/2 applicants must have passed Class 12th and satisfy sports norms such as representing the country in a Category-B event, or securing at least 3rd position in a Category-C event, National Championship, National Games or All India Inter-University Championship, or 1st position in a Senior Federation Cup. Level-1 applicants must have passed Class 10th or hold an ITI/NAC qualification and meet norms such as Category-C international representation, 3rd position in the Senior Federation Cup, or state-level representation. Selection is based on the assessment of sports achievements and a trial, with recruitment conducted through the Senior Personnel Officer (Recruitment), NF Railway, Maligaon, Guwahati. Applications open on 25 July 2026 and close on 24 August 2026. The age limit of 18 to 25 years is reckoned as on 1 January 2027. • Level-3/2 posts: Passed Class 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent from a government-recognised Board/Council/Institution
• Level-1 posts: Passed Class 10th (matriculation), or ITI, or equivalent, or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
• Candidate must be an eligible sportsperson meeting the prescribed sports norms for the applied level

• Applies to both Level-3/2 and Level-1 posts

• 56 posts: 21 in Level-3/2 and 35 in Level-1 of the Pay Matrix
• Level-3/2: Class 12th pass; Level-1: Class 10th / ITI / NAC
• Must be an Indian citizen and an eligible sportsperson meeting the level-wise sports norms
• Age 18 to 25 years as on 1 January 2027
• Sports achievements assessed against Category-A/B/C championship definitions in the notice
• Boxing: Youth-category achievements on or after 25.09.2016 count in place of Junior
