Selected NFR Trade Apprentices will undergo structured on-the-job training in their respective ITI trades at various NFR workshops, depots, and divisions across the Northeast Frontier Railway zone. The NFR 2026 apprentice selection is based on merit in ITI trade examination marks and 10th class marks — no written test required. Apprenticeship training lasts 1 to 2 years depending on the trade under the Apprentices Act 1961.
