Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a Maharatna Central Government PSU under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has released the Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 for 1,110 Trade, Technician, and Graduate Apprentice vacancies at its Rourkela facility in Odisha. Qualification
Trade Apprentice: ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade (Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, COPA, Electronic Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, and others) from a recognised ITI. Minimum 50% marks in Class 10th mandatory. Technician Apprentice: Diploma in Engineering in relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Computer Science, etc.) from a recognised polytechnic. Minimum 50% marks in Diploma. Graduate Apprentice: BE/BTech or relevant degree (Nursing, Pharmacy, Arts, Science, Commerce, BCA, BBA, etc.) from a recognised institution. Minimum 50% marks in qualifying degree.
Age Limit
18 to 28 years as on the date of Walk-in selection.
- SC/ST — 5 years relaxation
- OBC — 3 years relaxation
- PwD — 10 years relaxation as per Govt of India rules
Eligibility
- Trade Apprentice: ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade with minimum 50% marks in Class 10th

Salary

- Graduate Apprentice: ₹9,000 per month

Apprenticeship duration is one year. No regular employment guaranteed after training completion.
