Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2026 for 341 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and Upper Division Clerk (UDC) posts across various Central Government Ministries and Departments. IMPORTANT: This is a departmental exam — ONLY serving Central Government employees in LDC/UDC or equivalent grade are eligible. General public/fresh candidates CANNOT apply. Serving LDCs with 5+ years regular service can appear for promotion to UDC, and serving UDCs with 5+ years can appear for promotion to ASO. Selection through Written Examination conducted by SSC.
Eligibility
* Must be a serving Central Government employee.
* ASO: Currently serving as UDC or equivalent with 5+ years regular service.
* UDC: Currently serving as LDC or equivalent with 5+ years regular service.
* NOC from current department required.
* Age: No upper limit for departmental candidates.

Salary
ASO: Pay Level 7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400). UDC: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100). + DA + HRA.
How to Apply
1. Visit ssc.gov.in → One Time Registration (OTR) if not registered.
2. Login and select "ASO/UDC LDCE 2026."
3. Fill the form with service details, NOC number.
4. Upload photo, signature, and service certificate.
5. Pay ₹200 (Gen/OBC/Male) or nil (SC/ST/PwBD/Female) online.
6. Submit before 16 July 2026.
