Final Advice

SSC Stenographer is the most underrated SSC exam. While lakhs fight for CGL and CHSL, steno has significantly lower competition because shorthand is a specialized skill. If you invest 6-8 months in learning shorthand (starting from zero), you'll have a competitive edge that 95% of government job aspirants don't have.

The career path from Steno Grade D to PPS (₹67,700+ basic) is one of the fastest promotion tracks in the central government.
