CLW Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 — 25 Posts, Apply by 20 Aug (West Bengal)

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), a unit of Indian Railways, has released Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 under Employment Notice No. GMA/Rectt.&MPP/Sports Quota/2026-2027 for 25 posts against Open Advertisement and Talent Scouting. This railway job 2026 opening spans 15 sports discipline categories including Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Swimming and Shooting, across Level-1, Level-2 and Level-5/4 pay grades. Selected sportspersons will be appointed to Group C posts at CLW, Chittaranjan, based on their sports achievements and educational qualification. The selection process for CLW Sports Quota 2026 consists of a Sports Trial (40 marks, minimum 25 required to be declared Fit), Assessment of Sports Achievements (50 marks) and Educational Qualification (10 marks), with minimum aggregate marks of 70, 65 and 60 required for Level-5/4, Level-2 and Level-1 posts respectively. Pay is fixed at the minimum of the applicable scale, ranging from Grade Pay ₹1,800 for Level-1 up to Grade Pay ₹2,800/₹2,400 for Level-5/4. The CLW Sports Quota 2026 application must be submitted offline in the prescribed Annexure 'A' format, sent by post or dropped in the Drop Box at CLW. The last date to apply is 20 August 2026, extended to 31 August 2026 for candidates from specified North-Eastern and hill states/UTs and those residing abroad. Application fee is ₹250 for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Minorities/EBC candidates and ₹500 for others. Candidates must read the complete official CLW notification PDF before applying.

• Level-5/4 (2 posts): Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University
• Level-2 (8 posts): Higher Secondary (12th) or 10+2 or equivalent, OR Matriculation with Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, OR Matriculation with a recognized Diploma
• Level-1 (15 posts): Secondary (10th) or equivalent, or ITI, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT
• All candidates must be active sportspersons meeting the minimum sports norms (National/International achievement or ranking) prescribed for the relevant Level, across 15 disciplines including Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Swimming and Shooting

• Minimum 18 years, Maximum 25 years as on 01 January 2026
• No age relaxation for any category, including SC/ST/OBC/PwBD

• Indian National, active sportsperson meeting minimum sports norms for the relevant Level across 15 disciplines
• Level-5/4: Represented the Country in Olympic Games OR at least 3rd position in a Category-B Championship
• Level-2: Represented the country in Category-B Championship, OR 3rd position in Category-C Championship/National Championships/National Games, OR 1st position in Federation Cup (Senior)
• Level-1: Represented the Country in Category-C Championship, OR 3rd position in Federation Cup (Senior), OR represented State/equivalent Unit with at least 8th position in Senior Nationals
• Sports achievements must be on or after 01 April 2024
• Age 18 to 25 years as on 01 January 2026, with no age relaxation for any category
• Educational qualification varies by Level — Graduate (Level-5/4), 12th/Diploma (Level-2), 10th/ITI (Level-1)

• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: ₹250
• All other candidates: ₹500
• Fee payable via Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Bank Demand Draft in favour of "PFA, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works," payable at Chittaranjan

• Level-5/4: Grade Pay ₹2,800/₹2,400, Pay Band ₹5,200–₹20,200
• Level-2: Grade Pay ₹1,900, Pay Band ₹5,200–₹20,200
• Level-1: Grade Pay ₹1,800, Pay Band ₹5,200–₹20,200

1. Download the Employment Notice and prescribed application format (Annexure 'A') from clw.indianrailways.gov.in
2. Fill the application on good-quality A4-size white paper, in your own handwriting, in English or Hindi, using a blue or black ball-point pen
3. Write the required declaration statement in your own handwriting; applications without it will be rejected
4. Affix one recent colour passport-size photograph with white background; send 2 signed photographs and keep 5 more for future use
5. Enclose attested photocopies of Educational Qualification, Age proof, Caste Certificate and Sports Achievement certificates
6. Enclose the applicable application fee via IPO or Bank DD in favour of "PFA, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works," payable at Chittaranjan
7. Clearly indicate the Category No., Sports Discipline and Event/Position on the application
8. Write "APPLICATION AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA (OPEN ADVERTISEMENT & TALENT SCOUTING) RECRUITMENT FOR THE YEAR 2026-2027" on top of the envelope
