CSIR-CECRI was founded at Karaikudi in July 1948 and is the country's premier national laboratory for electrochemistry, working on batteries, corrosion science, electroplating and industrial electrochemical processes under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Two eligibility conditions catch candidates out regularly and should be checked before travelling: applicants must have passed their qualifying examination in 2022 or later, and anyone who has accumulated a year or more of work experience after obtaining that qualification is disqualified.
