The Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), a premier research laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. 625/SSPL/HR/JRF&RA/Rectt/2026-27/Main/01 for 23 fellowship positions — 16 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and 7 Research Associate (RA) posts in Physics and Electronics. Qualification
Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Post Graduate degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Physics/Electronics with First Division plus valid NET; or B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics/Electronics with First Division plus NET/GATE; or M.E./M.Tech with First Division at both graduate and post-graduate level. Research Associate (RA): Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics/Electronics; or M.E./M.Tech with 3 years of research experience in Semiconductor Materials, Device Fabrication and Characterization along with at least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal.
Age Limit
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) — maximum 28 years Research Associate (RA) — maximum 35 years Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per prevailing Government of India rules.
Eligibility
- JRF: M.Sc./equivalent in Physics/Electronics (1st Division) with NET; OR B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics/Electronics (1st Division) with NET/GATE; OR M.E./M.Tech (1st Division at both levels)
- RA: Ph.D. in Physics/Electronics; OR M.E./M.Tech with 3 years research experience in semiconductor materials/device fabrication and one SCI-indexed publication
- Age: JRF maximum 28 years; RA maximum 35 years
- SC/ST/OBC — age relaxation as per Government of India rules
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may apply for RA; award is subject to receiving the degree/provisional certificate before the offer date
- NOC required for candidates already employed in Government/PSU/Autonomous Bodies
