East Central Railway GDCE 2026 — 1,465 Posts, Apply Online by 15 Oct

Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway (ECR) has released East Central Railway GDCE Recruitment 2026 under Notification No. RRC/ECR/HRD/Rectt/GDCE/2026 for 1,465 posts through a General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) — an internal promotion route open ONLY to serving regular employees of East Central Railway and Rail Wheel Plant, Bela. This is not open recruitment for outside candidates; RPF and RPSF personnel are also not eligible. Eligible employees can apply online at ecr.indianrailways.gov.in from 15 September 2026 to 15 October 2026. Posts on offer under ECR GDCE 2026 span Assistant Loco Pilot (910), Goods Train Manager (389), Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk (42), Junior Engineer across multiple disciplines, Depot Material Superintendent, Station Master, Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor, Section Controller, Senior Clerk and various Technician-III trades, at Pay Levels 2, 3, 5 and 6 under the 7th Pay Commission. The selection process is a single-stage Computer-Based Test, with a Computer-Based Aptitude Test additionally required for Assistant Loco Pilot, Station Master and Section Controller, and a Computer-Based Typing Skill Test for Senior Clerk, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. There is 1/3rd negative marking per wrong answer in the CBT, with minimum qualifying marks of 40% (UR), 30% (OBC-NCL/SC) and 25% (ST), and no application fee mentioned. 3. Open the Hajipur Headquarters section, select RRC Patna, and open the GDCE section.

5. Select New Registration and enter your 11-digit employee ID and date of birth.
6. Provide the required personal, service, educational and contact details.
7. Log in using the registration number and password received by email or SMS.
8. Upload the required photograph, signature and supporting certificates.
9. Select eligible posts and enter post preferences carefully — preferences cannot be changed after final submission.
10. Review and submit the online application on or before 15 October 2026, 23:59 hours.
11. Save the submitted application as a PDF or take a printout for future reference; no postal submission is needed.
