• Eligible disciplines: Aeronautical (Aerospace, Aeronautical), Chemical, Civil, Computer Science (Computer Science & Engg., IT, Information Science, Software Engg., CSE-AI, CSE-AI & ML, CSE-Cyber Security and allied branches), Electrical (Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electrical & Power), Electronics (ECE, E&TC, VLSI Design, Electronics & Control Systems), Mechanical (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Mechanical & Automation, Mechanical & Production), Metallurgy (Metallurgy & Materials Engg. and allied) and Production (Production, Industrial, Manufacturing Engg. and allied).
• Minimum aggregate marks: 60% for UR / OBC-NCL / EWS candidates and 50% for SC / ST / PwBD candidates, calculated across all semesters / years without rounding off.
• CGPA holders must declare the equivalent percentage as per their University's norms and produce a Conversion Certificate at the interview.
• 5 / 6-year Integrated Degrees in the relevant discipline are eligible; Diploma-plus-Degree holders must enter Engineering Degree marks.
• Degrees through Correspondence, Distance Education, Part Time or E-Learning are not eligible.
• AMIE-type courses from Professional Bodies are accepted only if enrolment was on or before 31.05.2013, as per MHRD O.M. dated 06.12.2012.
• No prior work experience is required — the drive targets young graduate engineers.
• Where a branch name differs from the listed ones, HAL may accept it only if the degree certificate mentions an eligible discipline or branch; candidates should confirm with the official notification.
