The ICAR - Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS), Bhopal has issued a walk-in interview notification for two Young Professional posts on a purely temporary and contractual basis — one Young Professional-II and one Young Professional-I. The two posts are interviewed on different dates, with YP-II on 03 August 2026 and YP-I on 17 August 2026, both starting at 10:00 AM at the institute campus in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The two roles are technically unrelated to each other. Young Professional-II supports the institute's geospatial work and demands a Master's degree with demonstrated expertise in Remote Sensing and GIS, with additional weight given to Web GIS, spatial databases, R or Python, Google Earth Engine and satellite data processing. Young Professional-I is a civil engineering role suited to a graduate with experience in quantity estimation, costing, quality control and construction planning. YP-II carries a fixed Rs. 42,000 per month and YP-I a consolidated Rs. 30,000 per month. The initial appointment runs for six months or one year, or until the project ends, whichever is earlier, with extension subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements. The engagement confers no right to regular appointment or absorption in ICAR-IISS, and services may be terminated for unsatisfactory performance. The Director reserves the right to shortlist candidates or hold a written test before the interview. The venue is ICAR - Indian Institute of Soil Science, Nabibagh, Berasia Road, Bhopal 462038, and candidates should report at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time. No TA or DA is paid.
Qualification
- Young Professional-II — Master's Degree in Remote Sensing and GIS, Geoinformatics, Agricultural Physics, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Environmental Science, Geography or any related discipline, with expertise in Remote Sensing and GIS, from a recognised University
- Young Professional-I — Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering
- Desirable for YP-II — working knowledge of Remote Sensing, GIS analysis, Web GIS, spatial database management, R or Python programming, Google Earth Engine, QGIS or ArcGIS and satellite data processing
- Desirable for YP-I — minimum three years experience in civil engineering works, quantity estimation, costing, quality control and construction planning

Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years for both posts
Eligibility
- YP-II — Master's Degree in Remote Sensing and GIS, Geoinformatics, Agricultural Physics, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline with Remote Sensing and GIS expertise
- YP-I — Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering
- Age minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years for both posts
- No application fee for either post
- Engagement is purely temporary and contractual for six months to one year, or until project completion
- Appointment confers no right to regular appointment or absorption in ICAR-IISS
- No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview

- Report to ICAR - Indian Institute of Soil Science, Nabibagh, Berasia Road, Bhopal 462038
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time — 10:00 AM on 03 August 2026 for YP-II or 17 August 2026 for YP-I
- Appear for the walk-in test if conducted, followed by personal interview and document verification
