Overview

ICF Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is out — Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, a production unit of Indian Railways under the Ministry of Railways, has released Notification No. APP/01/2026-2027 announcing 1,010 government job vacancies for Act Apprentice training under the Skill India Mission, with preference given to candidates from Tamil Nadu. ICF, one of India's leading rail coach manufacturing units, invites online applications from both Freshers (330 seats) and Ex-ITI candidates (680 seats) across eight trades: Carpenter, Electrician, Fitter, Machinist, Painter, Welder, MLT (Radiology & Pathology), and PASAA. Selected apprentices will undergo structured training at ICF Chennai, with Fitter and Welder carrying the largest allocations — 180 Ex-ITI seats each — alongside Electrician (160 Ex-ITI seats) and smaller trade-specific allocations across Carpenter, Painter, Machinist, MLT, and PASAA. The ICF Act Apprentice 2026 selection process has no written exam or interview: it is based purely on a merit list prepared from Standard X marks, with Freshers exercising trade preference options allotted based on merit order and vacancy availability, while Ex-ITI candidates are trained in the trade matching their existing ITI certificate. Is ICF Act Apprentice 2026 a good opportunity? It offers structured technical training at a premier railway coach factory, with the notification explicit that training does not guarantee employment or absorption into Indian Railways on completion — a National Apprenticeship Certificate remains a valuable credential supporting future railway technical recruitment applications. The ICF Act Apprentice 2026 online application is available at pb.icf.gov.in. The last date to apply is 07 September 2026, till 17:30 hrs. The application processing fee is ₹100 plus service charges for General/OBC male candidates, with SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates exempted. Candidates must be residents of or registered with a local Employment Exchange in Tamil Nadu (except wards of Railway employees) and must read the complete official notification PDF before applying.
