Overview

Yes, the Indian Coast Guard CGEPT 2026 notification is out for 365 posts, and online applications are open on ssc.gov.in from 06 October 2026 to 21 October 2026. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), an Armed Force of the Union under the Ministry of Defence, is recruiting Enrolled Persons through the Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT) for Batches 01/2027 and 02/2027 — and this cycle the application runs through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) portal instead of the joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in site used for earlier batches. The 365 vacancies cover Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik and Hygienist-I, with 26 Navik (GD) posts open to women, making this one of the main 10th, 12th and diploma-level defence jobs of 2026. Navik (GD) sailors handle seamanship, boat and ship operations, while Yantriks are the Coast Guard's technical sailors maintaining engines, electrical and electronic systems; Navik (DB) and Hygienist-I support galley, stewarding and hygiene functions. Selection runs through four stages: a 100-mark computer-based exam in Stage-I (1 hour, no negative marking, passing mark 40 for UR/EWS/OBC and 35 for SC/ST), a Physical Fitness Test, adaptability test, document verification and recruitment medical in Stage-II, final medicals and documents at INS Chilka in Stage-III, and document authentication in Stage-IV. Yantrik basic pay is ₹29,200 at Pay Level 5 plus ₹6,200 Yantrik Pay, while Navik and Hygienist-I start at ₹21,700 at Pay Level 3, along with DA, free ration, accommodation and medical cover. To apply for ICG CGEPT 01/2027 and 02/2027, register on www.ssc.gov.in, complete the application with live photo capture and upload the required documents. The last date to apply online is 21 October 2026 at 5:30 PM, and the fee is ₹550 for General, OBC and EWS candidates while SC/ST candidates are exempted. Each candidate may apply for only one post, so read the full CGEPT advertisement on ssc.gov.in carefully before submitting, as only the latest application is considered.
