Overview

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, issued Advertisement No. IIT Mandi/Recruit./NTS/2026/02 on 21 July 2026 inviting online applications from Indian nationals for 11 non-teaching posts. The vacancies span six roles at widely different levels: Chief Medical Officer, Project Engineer and Estate Officer or Executive Engineer, Medical Officer, Technical Officer, Junior Superintendent and Junior Library Information Assistant. Category-wise the split is 9 Unreserved, 1 SC and 1 EWS. Junior Superintendent carries the most vacancies at four, followed by two each for Medical Officer and Junior Library Information Assistant, and one each for the remaining three posts. Pay runs from Pay Level-04 for Junior Library Information Assistant up to Pay Level-13 for Chief Medical Officer under the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix, with Institute and Central Government allowances on top. This spread makes the notification unusual in that a diploma holder in Library Science and a senior MBBS practitioner are applying under the same advertisement number, on the same closing date, with different fee slabs. Selection begins with screening and shortlisting on qualification and experience, and IIT Mandi has reserved the right to shortlist against criteria higher than the stated minimum eligibility. A written test, trade test or skill test may follow depending on the post, as decided by the Screening Committee. Apply online at the Samarth portal linked to iitmandi.ac.in between 21 July 2026 at 10:00 hrs and 10 August 2026 at 23:59 hrs. Eligibility on qualification, experience and age is reckoned as on the last date of submission, and the fee once paid is not refunded.
