Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is conducting a Special Drive to engage 134 Apprentice Trainees under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), per Notification No. CO/APPR/2026/01 dated 7 August 2026. KRCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 spans nine post categories across BE/B.Tech and Diploma streams in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering, plus General Stream Graduate Apprentices, making it one of the larger railway apprentice drives currently open in the western and southern railway corridor. Unlike a typical online-form recruitment, this KRCL apprentice trainee engagement has no separate application form or fee-payment step. Eligible candidates first register on the NATS portal to obtain an approved NATS ID, then attend Document Verification in person on their post-wise scheduled date — 24, 25, 27, or 28 August 2026 — at the Executives Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, Sector-40, Navi Mumbai. Selection is purely merit-based: marks across all semesters and years are aggregated into a single percentage with no rounding off, and land loser candidates whose land was acquired for the Konkan Railway Project get first preference, followed by candidates from KRCL's own jurisdiction districts — Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra; North Goa and South Goa; and Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. Graduate Apprentices receive a combined monthly stipend of Rs. 12,300 (Rs. 6,150 each from the Government DBT share and the KRCL establishment share), while Technician (Diploma) Apprentices receive Rs. 10,900 combined. Training runs for 1 year and does not confer any right to future employment or absorption in KRCL. Candidates should note that furnishing wrong, fake, or false certificates at any stage can lead to termination of the training contract, and canvassing or exerting pressure through any source will disqualify a candidature without prior intimation. Candidates must have passed their qualifying exam between 2021 and 2025 and should read the full official KRCL Apprentice Trainee 2026-27 notification PDF carefully before their Document Verification date, since original documents, a prescribed-format medical certificate, and category proofs are all mandatory at the venue.
