Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has released its Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026 notification for 26 posts in the 'E2' Grade of Management Cadre. Is MRPL Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026 out? Yes, Advertisement No. 94/2026 is officially live, and online applications are open from 21 August 2026, 10:00 hrs, to 19 September 2026, 18:00 hrs. MRPL, a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise and a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), is recruiting Assistant Engineers across three engineering disciplines: 8 posts in Mechanical, 3 in Electrical, and 15 in Chemical. Candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engineering degree in the relevant discipline, with a minimum aggregate of 60% for UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Notably, the Mechanical and Electrical disciplines are notified exclusively under a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidates, with no unreserved posts in these two streams; only the Chemical discipline is open to candidates across all categories, including UR and EWS. Selection is based entirely on valid GATE-2026 marks — scores from any previous or other GATE examination are not accepted — with candidates shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio (post to candidates) for Group Discussion and Personal Interview, category-wise. Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 50,000 in the E2 pay scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000, along with DA, HRA or township accommodation, and performance-related pay. The maximum age limit is 27 years for UR/EWS, with relaxation up to 30 years for OBC(NCL), 32 years for SC/ST, and an additional 10 years for PwBD candidates. The application fee is Rs. 118 for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, with SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates exempted. Selected candidates must serve a minimum 3-year service bond of Rs. 3,00,000 (General) or Rs. 50,000 (EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD). Eligible GATE-2026 qualified engineers can apply online through the MRPL careers portal, with the last date to apply set for 19 September 2026, 18:00 hrs. MRPL Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026 offers a substantial number of management cadre engineering opportunities at a leading PSU refinery, with meaningful reservation-driven access for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidates across the Mechanical and Electrical disciplines specifically. Additional context: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation operating one of India's major petroleum refining complexes at Mangaluru, Karnataka, periodically recruits fresh engineering talent through GATE-based selection to strengthen its technical management cadre. The E2 grade entry point places selected Assistant Engineers on a defined career progression track within one of India's established PSU refining operations, with exposure to complex process engineering, plant operations, and maintenance functions across mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering domains. The Special Recruitment Drive structure for Mechanical and Electrical disciplines reflects MRPL's targeted effort to improve SC/ST/OBC(NCL) representation in these streams specifically, while the Chemical discipline, core to refinery operations, remains open to candidates from all categories including UR and EWS. With a competitive E2 pay scale, service bond commitment, and nationwide transfer liability including postings within ONGC group companies, this recruitment offers a structured long-term career path for GATE-qualified engineers seeking to build a career in India's oil and petrochemical sector.
