Overview
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala Recruitment 2026 is open for aspirants seeking a government apprenticeship, with 734 government job vacancies announced for Act Apprentice training across nine trades in Punjab. RCF Kapurthala, a coach-manufacturing production unit of Indian Railways under the Ministry of Railways, has released Notification No. A-1/2026 dated 07 August 2026, inviting online applications from 10th-pass, ITI-qualified candidates for hands-on technical training at its Technical Training Centre in Kapurthala. As one of Indian Railways' major coach production units alongside the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, RCF Kapurthala offers apprentices structured exposure to large-scale coach manufacturing under the Apprentices Act 1961. Candidates who have passed 10th class with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and hold a National Trade Certificate (NCVT) in a notified trade are eligible to apply for RCF Kapurthala Apprentice 2026. Selected apprentices will undergo structured on-the-job training in one of nine trades at the RCF Kapurthala Technical Training Centre — Welder (G&E) carries the largest share with 220 posts, followed by Fitter at 180 posts, Electrician at 110 posts, Machinist at 60 posts, AC & Refrigeration Mechanic at 44 posts, Painter and Carpenter at 40 posts each, and Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) and Electronic Mechanic at 20 posts each. Is RCF Kapurthala Apprentice 2026 a good career move? The RCF Kapurthala Apprentice 2026 selection process has no written exam or interview: it runs entirely on a merit list built from the average of matriculation and ITI percentage marks, followed by document verification and a medical fitness examination. It is a training engagement, not a permanent post — the notification is explicit that apprenticeship completion carries no automatic right to absorption into RCF or Indian Railways — but a completed National Apprenticeship Certificate is a recognised credential that supports future applications to RRC Group D and other Railway technical recruitment cycles. The RCF Kapurthala Apprentice 2026 online application is available at the official RCF apprenticeship portal, pardarsy.railnet.gov.in. The last date to apply for RCF Kapurthala Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is 05 September 2026, till 24:00 hours, after which the application link becomes inactive. Application fee is ₹100 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates, payable online 2 working days after form submission. Candidates must read the complete official RCF Kapurthala Apprentice 2026 notification PDF (Notification No. A-1/2026 dated 07.08.2026) before applying, including Annexure-A, which lists the detailed physical and medical fitness standards required at the final stage.
Qualification
Candidates applying for RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent under the 10+2 system, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board. In addition to the 10th-class qualification, candidates must hold a National Trade Certificate (NCVT) in the trade they are applying for. The nine notified trades are Fitter, Welder (G&E), Machinist, Painter (G), Carpenter, Electrician, AC & Refrigeration Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), and Electronic Mechanic. Candidates whose 10th-class result is issued in CGPA format must convert CGPA to a percentage using the formula CGPA × 9.5, and enter this converted percentage figure in the online application rather than the raw CGPA. The same conversion approach applies to ITI marks issued in CGPA format.
