Overview
The Indian Air Force has released the AFCAT 02/2026 notification for 379 vacancies (tentative) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branches under Short Service Commission (SSC) for courses commencing July 2027. Entries include AFCAT Entry, NCC Special Entry, and GATE Score Entry (Technical). Selection is through the AFCAT written exam, AFSB Interview, and Medical Examination. This is one of the key entry routes for officer-level careers in the Indian Air Force.
Eligibility
* Flying Branch: Graduation in any discipline with 60% and Physics & Maths at 10+2, OR B.E./B.Tech with 60%.
* Ground Duty Technical: B.E./B.Tech in relevant stream with 60%.
* Ground Duty Non-Technical: Graduation with 60%; MBA/MCA for certain branches.
* Flying: 20–24 years as on 01 July 2027 (CPL holders up to 26). Ground Duty: 20–26 years.
* Unmarried if below 25 at course commencement; cannot marry during training.
* Indian citizens only.
